Peru

Yessenia Paredes, Partner at ONTIER Peru, goes over her professional career in an interview for the Peruvian newspaper El Comercio. Paredes, who graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University, always wanted to become a lawyer. 'Studying law was definitely a personal decision. My parents gave me guidance and support at all times. I discovered my passion in the last year of high school and I was able to consolidate it by achieving legal solutions for the benefit of the community, because I always keep in mind that the legal practice fulfills a social function' she explains.

Paredes also points out that university studies are essential for developing a professional career and highlights the importance that postgraduate studies are acquiring, which, in her opinion, are essential for strengthening and consolidating legal knowledge. Furthermore, postgraduate studies are spaces for reflection and decision making that enable a better orientation of professional performance' she says.

The lawyer and partner at ONTIER Peru concludes her interview affirming that one of the challenges lawyers face is to be up-to-date with the new trends and criteria that reality imposes on the profession. 'ONTIER Peru advises international corporations and that is why we need to be aware of other legal realities. This translates into motivation to pursue further graduate studies in the near future.'
